#23 - "W" is for Walk

8" x 8"
Oil on Canvas
NFS
This is my husband and son taking a stroll in the park about 12 years ago. For many reasons, this image is very dear to me, but the one that stands out for this challenge is that my son is walking. Due to development delays, my son did not start walking until he was 2 1/2 years old, so you can imagine how excited I was when he finally took his first steps. At this point in my photo reference, he had only been walking for 6 months. I really enjoyed getting lost in this memory while painting, and didn't want to stop, but I must move on to the letter "X".

Happy Mother's Day

Oil on Canvas
NFS

This is a painting of my mother and daughter, two very special ladies in my life. The photo reference was taken at the NC Museum of Art in the Rodin Garden. I completed the painting 2 years ago, but never posted it.
Happy Mother's day Mom!

Pink Umbrella

16"x20"
Oil on Canvas
SOLD
I had a lot of fun painting on a larger canvas this time, but it has been hard to know when to stop and call it finished. This NYC scene is of my daughter and her cousin headed to the American Girl store for a full day of shopping, dining, and exciting cab rides; I think the pink, frilly umbrella says it all.
