I love paintings of unmade beds, and I have only painted this one other time, back in my college days. If I can find it, I will post it later. This past year James Gurney posted an article on his blog about this subject, including a painting by one of my favorite artists, John Singer Sargent. I painted this one with the cool, natural light coming in from my window. This was a great exercise in practicing folds in cloth, and the color of those grays.
What luscious folds and whites you have in this painting. The color is so striking of the bed, really works well.

ReplyDeleteI really like all your work - but this one really caught my eye - I love that rich reddish brown on the headboard and nighttable. Fantastic!
