Turnips

5"x7"
Oil on Canvas

This is my entry for the Paint Your Vegetable Challenge posted by Diane Mannion. I am trying to loosen up a bit, and not be quite so clean/tight in my application of the paint. It was fun to get a little more bold with the color too.

  2. Great composition, and I like the contrast of the purple and green . . . nice!

  3. I really love the looser brushstrokes, and the lime green against the purple is spectacular! The yellow-gold end on the table turnips is just enough warmth to draw your eye from the coolness... you are one very talented lady ;-)

  4. Definitely a 'turn' in a new direction! The greens really make the purples sing.
