In honor of Autism Awareness month, I would like to auction this painting and donate all the proceeds to the University of North Carolina TEACCH program. TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children) has made a significant impact on the autism community here and around the world. Donations to this program help to support much needed services, research, and training for individuals with autism. My family personally benefited from the program when my son was diagnosed with autism 7 years ago. The support, encouragement and education we received following his diagnosis helped us immensely as we faced the many challenges of raising a child with autism. I will never forget the warmth and compassion I felt from the TEACCH professionals, and the sensitivity and respectful attitude they displayed when working with my son.
